Our Story So Far...

Dear Grace is the culmination of 30 years in the retail industry.  My career started in Colchester in the fabulous soft furnishing department at the Colchester Co-op.  My career has travelled well, from Colchester to Sydney Australia, Maldon and now back to where it all began.

Spending my childhood between our family farm where i still live, my beautiful school in the Suffolk countryside and my Nan and Grandad's lovely little home, English country house style and a welcoming home were my early influences.

Strangely whilst living in Australia I fell in love with all things French Country.  I believe Dear Grace is a perfect homage to both these styles

 

Dear Grace in 2022
After the challenges of the past two years 2022 is looking bright.  We moved to a larger 5,000sq ft warehouse and launched a new website.  These both will enable us to expand our online collection to offer more furniture and lighting as well as growing the already extensive accessories collections.
We now work alongside a talented designer and stylist allowing us to offer an affordable home styling service for customers both local and further afield.
We also made the decision to keep festive spirit alive all year and have a permanent Christmas emporium online and a dedicated social media page for when you need a little festive fix.

We are blessed to have been nominated for and winners of several awards including the being named Colchester Business Person of the Year.

 

Time Line

1990 - Started job in leading soft furnishing department

1992 - Became department supervisor

1999 - Moved to Australia and first store opened

2010 - Returned to the UK and opened what is now Dear Grace

2012 - Expanded to a larger store

2014 - Opened the styling and design side of the business

2018 - David joined the business and we relocated to the city centre

2018 - Launched our online store

2019 - Voted 'Favorite Location'

2020 - Winner of two national awards.

2020 - Voted Best Lifestyle or Homeware Retailer of Gifts

2020 - Expanded the current store to incorporate a showroom alongside a design and styling department

2021 - Moved our online and shop storage to our new purpose built 5,000sq ft warehouse.

2021 - Finalist in The Muddy Stilettos awards

2022 - New website launch

2022 - Announced as Colchester Business Person of the Year
